I am Elias Sperlich, a Art Historian, curator, collector and dealer in the jeweled arts. I see jewelry as underestimated and underappreciated pieces of art, a piece of culture and history in wearable objects of art.
My background.
My grandmother was the one who passed on the jewelry bug. She loved antique and vintage jewelry. My own realisation of how much I liked the history, uniqueness, beauty, craftsmanship and stories of antique and vintage jewelry was back in 2012 while looking for an engagement ring when thinking of proposing to my than future wife. We share the interest for art, design and antiques so when I came across a 1930s Tiffany ring I knew it was the right one. Lucky for me she said yes!
A natural progression then followed from a long-standing fascination of my grandmothers collection and study of jewelry history and craftsmanship to amassing our exclusive collection of antique fineries.

The very nature of antique jewelry is that it has been pre-worn and loved for a long time, in some of our cases, for over 200 years. That being said, our jewelry may have welding marks from original casting or repair, and other signs of aging. Please review carefully before making a purchase.

Sperlich Jewelry uses its vast knowledge to date each piece based on materials, construction techniques, hallmarks/signatures, overall style and cultural context. While dating and authenticity are not a formal science, we determine them to the best of our ability based on our knowledge, experience and resources. Some of our pieces are mounted in a way that makes it difficult to determine a precise stone’s grading. Diamonds and colored gemstones that cannot be removed from their vintage settings without harm to the piece are evaluated in their mountings using industry-standard measurements and formulas. Unless certified by an independent lab, such as the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) or the European Gemological Laboratory (EGL), stone gradings are done by us or an independent gemologist. Jewelry descriptions and all carat weights stated represent approximates. Mounted stone(s) is/are graded only insofar as mounting permits observation. Most colored gemstones (i.e. rubies, sapphires and emeralds) are often treated to enhance their beauty; some treatments may not be permanent and/or may require special care. Please email us for further details. All diamonds shown on our website are natural, untreated diamonds. We cannot guarantee that the color you see matches the item color, as the display of color depends, in part, upon the type of computer monitor used to observe the image. Pieces could go out of stock before we’re able to remove them from the site. Should this occur, we will notify you. We make every attempt to only show our users correct information. From time to time inaccurate data may be displayed due to system error. We reserve the right to correct any incorrect pricing as a result of the above, and will not honor any incorrect prices. Under no circumstances will Sperlich Jewelry be held liable for any indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages of any kind, regardless of the form of action, whether in contract, including negligence, strict product liability or otherwise, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Payment Process
We offer a 90-day interest-free payment plan on all our items, with a 20% non-refundable deposit. The balance may be paid off in 3 monthly payments, following a regular, monthly payment schedule.
On items costing over $5,000, we are able to offer a slightly longer payment plan – please feel free to ask! While we are not able to offer most items on an extended lay-away plan, we will do our very best to work with you.
The Fine Print:
Lay-away deposits are non-refundable. However, should you have a change of heart, you may transfer/apply your deposit to another item in our inventory within 48 hours of confirming the original lay-away sale.
Payments must be made every 30 days, as scheduled, and we must receive them on or before the day they are due.
If more than 2 payments are late or if the layaway is not paid in full by the scheduled end date, the item will be returned to stock and all funds paid to date will be forfeited. We will make every attempt to reach you prior to putting the item back in inventory.
Because layaway items are being taken off the market and held for you for an extended period of time, they are final sale only. We do not allow returns or exchanges on layaway items except as allowed by our standard policy
