This elegant Art Deco bar brooch is distinguished by two untreated, unheated sapphires approx 2,00ct and 2,30ct, each set at opposing ends to emphasize the brooch’s clean, architectural line. The sapphires’ natural, unenhanced color adds rarity and authenticity. Finding a pair of well matched vibrant unheated sapphires with a very attractive color is a feat in itself.

Between the terminal stones, a ribbon-like central motif unfolds in a refined interplay of old mine–, old European–, and rose-cut diamonds approx. 2ct in total, creating a subtle movement that softens the brooch’s geometric silhouette. The quality displayed is of fine early 20th-century craftsmanship Edwardian crossing over to Art Deco. Executed in classic palette of white precious metal and bright stones, the brooch balances symmetry with gentle curves, capturing the era’s fascination with both modernity and grace.

An bar brooch is a quintessential jewel of the 1920s–1930s, capturing the clean geometry and modern glamour that defined the era. Slim, elongated, and architecturally precise, these brooches were designed to sit elegantly on a lapel, dress, or cloche hat, adding a refined line of sparkle to the sleek silhouettes of the time.
Typically crafted in platinum or white gold, Late Edwardian early Art Deco bar brooches often feature colored stones and diamonds, and symmetrical motifs such as steps, chevrons, arrows, or stylized florals. The emphasis is always on balance, contrast, and clarity of design. A reflection of the era’s fascination with modernity, machinery, and streamlined luxury.

These brooches were also highly versatile: worn horizontally, vertically, or even clustered in pairs to accent evening wear. Today, they are prized not only for their elegance and craftsmanship but also as icons of a cultural moment when jewelry embraced abstraction, innovation, and the bold spirit of the Jazz Age.
In short, an Art Deco bar brooch is both a piece of jewelry and a miniature architectural object, timeless, chic, and unmistakably modern even a century later.
