About the maker: Court jeweler CF Carlman AB was established 1855.

C.F. Carlman AB
Founded in 1855 in Stockholm by Carl Ferdinand Carlman. C.F. Carlman quickly rose to prominence as one of Sweden’s most distinguished jewelers and silversmiths. By 1893 the firm had been appointed Kunglig Hovjuvelerare (Court Jeweler), supplying jewels, silver, and gifts to the Swedish royal family. Known for impeccable craftsmanship and elegant Scandinavian design, Carlman’s creations ranged from exquisite jewels and goldsmith work to fine silver and presentation pieces.

Throughout the early 20th century, Carlman was a favored source for royal wedding gifts, orders, and ceremonial regalia, and the company’s hallmark remains synonymous with quality Swedish gold and silver work. Though less internationally known than houses such as Fabergé or Cartier, Carlman represents the refinement of Nordic luxury, deeply tied to Sweden’s royal and cultural heritage.

This ring was made by Rolf Carlman (1932–2019) fourth generation son to run the company. The firm closed 1993.
