A magic snake bracelet made in Stockholm by Gustaf Möllenborg (1796-1851) in the first half of the 19th century, probably around 1840.
Gustaf Möllenborg started as a goldsmiths apprentice at the age of 13!!! Fourteen years later, 14 mars 1823 he was approved by the guild as master goldsmith and was allowed to open shop. The business grew steadily until he handed over the reins 1850 a year before he passed. His work is represented at the National Museum in Stockholm.
The bangle is 18K gold, riverpearl on top, 2 small rose-cut eyes, inner dimensions 6.4 x 5.5 cm, weight 25.9 grams, engraved “Charlotta”, Probably owned by famous Swedish actress Charlotta Almlöf (1813-1875). Original case.
