Majestic, delightfully voluminous and whimsical!
Animals have always had a prominent part in Cartier’s design history. The elephant spirit animal appears in the devotional beliefs of people around the world. Often referred to as the world’s most gentle giant, the elephant is much greater than their physical stature alone. They are traditionally considered a symbol of good luck, wisdom, fertility, and protection. Elephants with their trunks down are thought to be accumulating positive energy and pushing through obstacles, and are particularly potent totems for those seeking fertility, wisdom, or strength.
Here is, part of the 1980s “Nouvelle Joaillerie Egypte Collection”, a pair of chic Cartier elephant ear-clips in two color 18k gold, the brushed white gold hoops topped with six marching elephants in yellow gold highlighted with round-cut emerald eyes. They represent the finest craftsmanship from the house of Cartier. Signed Cartier, numbered 655954. Made in France.
