Six Russian amethysts totaling approximately 24.84 carats are set among rose-cut diamonds weighing approximately 5.40 carats. The stones are mounted in a finely hand-fabricated silver-topped setting over 14 karat yellow gold, a classic construction of the period.
The Belle Époque was an age of growing prosperity, artistic confidence and changing tastes. Jewelry became lighter and more refined, moving away from the heavier Victorian styles that preceded it. Diamonds were used to create delicacy and movement, while colored gemstones brought personality and subtle color.
What stands out here is the combination of the soft lilac amethysts and the gentle sparkle of the rose-cut diamonds. Elegant without being formal, substantial without feeling heavy.
